Kresna Hotel is a four star hotel and a reincarnation of the Grand Hotel Dieng that was established in 1917. Grand Hotel Dieng formerly run by a family from Netherland and as a stopover for Europeans especially Dutch who will visit Dieng Plateu in Wonosobo, besides its natural beauty can also be encountered any Hindu temples from the 17th Century.

Enshirnerment complex  was first discovered by Dutch arceologist HC Cornelius in 1814. At that time, the enshirnerment areas still inundated with water and in 1856 the temple complex was dried and then reported to Holland. SInce then, Dieng attract people to visit, this opportunity is apparently read by JW Muthert by establishing Grand Hotel Dieng. Several well known figures  who had spent the night here include Princes Astrid of Belgium twice, The King of Siam Prince and Princes Rabibadhana, Charlie Chaplin, Her Royal Highnes Sirindhorn of Thailand, Mr. Soekarno the first Indonesia's President, Mr. Yudhoyono the 5th President and Mr. Ir. H. Joko Widodo the 7th President of Indonesia, etc.

One day JW Muthert family went to Netherland and at the same time broke the second World War, so they  never return back to Indonesia. And until now almost the ceiling of the restaurant is still have some bullet holes war time because this hotel was once the headquarter of the Dutch ARMY. At certain times at the lobby area, we could hear the Gamelan music from the 18th Century named "Kyai Mega Mendung". It is said that formerly played gamelan is to call rain. In the corner of the pool is still standing a strong tower that use to serve as a tower or hot water furnance. 

We also have a antique bedroom from 1879 and if we walk along the corridors of the hotel, we can enjoy hundred of beautiful paintings of the famous painters in this country.
